Harrisburg, PA – The Interdenominational Ministers Conference (IMC) of Harrisburg, will hold a Spiritual Healing Worship Service for Veterans and Military Families from 11:00 am –1 pm, Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Bethany AME Church, 912 S. 21st Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104. All veterans, their families and members of the community are invited to attend this event.
“Some of the most enduring wounds of war are to the human heart and soul,” said Rev. Dwight D. Edwards, Chair of the Veterans Committee of the IMC. “Those in conflict knew that a Landing Zone (LZ) was a safe, clear, and ready place for landing without harm. LZ – Resurrection will help tend to those wounds of the heart and soul. Our veterans answered our country’s call and served with honor and we are fortunate to have these capable men and women among us. This service will be to salute and support Central Pennsylvania Veterans here in our community, where their roots are planted.”
According to the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Pennsylvania is home to nearly one million Veterans. More than 22,195 veterans reside in Dauphin County and over 22,000 reside in Cumberland County.
The IMC of Greater Harrisburg was founded more than 55 years ago by a group of Harrisburg-area ministers who wanted to spread Christ’s gospel, promote brotherhood and implement the ideals of justice and dignity throughout the community.
